Between Two Homes

41 Hope Street is soon to be razed. The Victorian workers cottage in Spotswood has stood in its current state since the 1890s. During the transition from old to new it’s façade, walls, floorboards, chimney and backyard shed will encounter an unexpected conversion. Artists, architects and performers will unite to rethink the space between what was and what will be over the course of two weeks. At once an interrogation, intervention and interruption, Between Two Homes seeks to peel away our understanding of renovation by providing a profound sense of place – an experience that speaks beyond the confines of gallery or theatre and into a home, a suburb and a city as a reflection upon the passage of time.
